General Rosary Intention: That the Father in His Divine Mercy – through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of Mercy, may build up His Kingdom, make these mysteries a reality in our lives, strengthen us in our common mission, and come to the aid of those for whom we pray.

Africa (Green Beads)

Intention – That the Lord Jesus through the intercession of St. Juliana Falconieri, the Patron Saint of the Sick, may come to the aid of those affected by Undiagnosed Haemorrhagic Fever Syndrome in South Sudan. May the Lord help all those affected by man-made and natural disasters in Africa.

Disaster: Undiagnosed Haemorrhagic Fever Syndrome  Map of South Sudan Extract from South Sudan hit by mysterious Ebola-like illness: “South Sudan has been reeling from civil war, widespread hunger, and desperate poverty. The last thing the world’s newest nation needs is a deadly mystery disease. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what it’s got. At least 10 people have died so far from the disease, which has symptoms that include bleeding, fever and vomiting. These effects are similar to Ebola, but tests show that it’s not, leaving medical workers perplexed. ‘The lab results are not consistent with the symptoms, and that is what is concerning,’ Dr. Rohit Chitale, an epidemiologist with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, told IRIN in a phone interview. So far the risk of an epidemic seems low. The disease hasn’t come anywhere near the levels of the Ebola epidemic that appeared in 2014 and tore through the West African countries of Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. Since late December, South Sudan has had 51 reported cases of what the World Health Organization is referring to as “undiagnosed haemorrhagic fever syndrome”. All cases are from two counties in the northwest: Aweil North, where 45 people were infected and 10 died; and Aweil West, where there have been six cases, none fatal. The region borders Darfur in Sudan, where 469 cases of undiagnosed haemorrhagic fever syndrome were reported between August and November 2015, and 129 people died, according to the WHO. ‘Because of frequent population cross-border movement between Sudan and South Sudan, the risk of international spread of the disease cannot be ruled out,’” the WHO said in a statement.”

Saint Juliana Falconieri, Patron Saint of the Sick (Feast Date: June 19) Extract from June 19,–ST. JULIANA FALCONIERI: “JULIANA FALCONIERI Was born in answer to prayer, A.D. 1270. Her father built the splendid church of the Annunziata in Florence, while her uncle, Blessed Alexius, became one of the founders of the Servite Order. Under his care Juliana grew up, as he said, more like an angel than a human being. Such was her modesty that she never used a mirror or gazed upon the face of a man during her whole life. The mere mention of sin made her shudder and tremble, and once hearing, a scandal related she fell into a dead swoon. Her devotion to the sorrows of Our Lady drew her to the Servants of Mary; and, at the age of fourteen, she refused an offer of marriage, and received the habit from St. Philip Benizi himself. Her sanctity attracted many novices, for whose direction she was bidden to draw up a rule, and thus with reluctance she became foundress of the “Mantellate.” She led a life of apostolic charity, converting sinners, reconciling enemies, and healing the sick by sucking with her own lips their ulcerous sores. She was sometimes rapt for whole days in ecstasy, and, her prayers saved. the Servite Order when it was in danger of being suppressed. She was visited in her last hour by angels in the form of white doves, and Jesus Himself, as a beautiful child, crowned her with a garland of flowers.” See picture of St. Juliana Falconieri. Oceania (Blue Beads)

Intention – That the Lord Jesus through the intercession of Saint Eurosia, Patron Saint against Bad Weather, may come to the aid of those affected by flooding and power outages in Tonga. May the Lord help all those affected by man-made and natural disasters in Oceania.

Disaster: Flooding and Power Outages Map of Tonga Extract from Tonga hit by flooding and power cuts: “Storms that battered Australia more than a week ago have brought widespread disruption to the Pacific islands. Tonga is now drying out after several days of torrential rain. In the middle of what is supposed to be the dry season, the rain transformed the capital into a series of lakes. A total of 273mm of rain was reported at Fua’amotu airport in the 24 hours up until 00GMT on Saturday. According to Tonga Meteorological and Coastal Radio Services, this is the highest June rainfall recorded in the past 36 years of records. This is more than three times the average of 79mm that is expected in the entire month, and close to the amount of rain that fell from Tropical Cyclone Winston in February, which delivered 294mm of rain to Vava’u in 24 hours. As well as torrential rain, the weather system also brought strong winds. According to Matangi Tonga Online, these winds tore down trees and power lines and a number of power cuts were reported in western Tongatapu, the main island of Tonga. This is the same weather system that  pounded eastern Australia over a week ago. The storm did major damage, causing coastal erosion and widespread flooding.”

Saint Eurosia: Patron Saint against Bad Weather (Feast Dates: June 25) Extract from Saint Eurosia : “Also known as Orosia. Born to the nobility. Eurosia was promised in an arranged marriage to a Moor, she hid in a cave, but the smoke from her fire gave away her position. Eurosia was dragged from the cave by her hair and martyred. Very popular cultus throughout southern France and northern Italy. Canonized 1902 by Pope Leo XIII.” See also: Saint Eurosia.

Europe

Intention – That the Lord Jesus through the intercession of Saint Mary, Our Lady of Medjugorje, Patroness of Peace, may come to the aid of those affected by violence and terrorism in France. May the Lord help all those affected by man-made and natural disasters in Europe.

Disaster: Violence and Terrorism Map of France Extract from  Euro 2016: Dozens injured as crowds of rival fans brawl:  “Packs of Russian and English football fans clashed in the French city of Marseille in a third straight day of battles at the Euro 2016 championship.Fans brawled before and after the game Saturday, forcing police in riot gear to fire tear gas to disperse crowds. Throngs lunged at one another, and hurled bottles and other objects at officers. After the game, Russian fans charged at the section where their British counterparts sat as chaos ensued. Smoke filled the streets as panicked fans fled. At least 31 people were injured in the clashes, four of them critically, said Mathieu Duroselle, a spokesman for Marseille police. The number included three officers who suffered slight injuries, he said. See also: French terror attacker threatened Euro 2016 in Facebook video, source says. Saint Mary, Our Lady of Medjugorje: Patroness of Peace (Feast Date: June 25) Extract from Our Lady of Međugorje Profile The Roman Catholic Church has declared that it cannot be affirmed that the reported apparitions are supernatural in character. A letter written by Archbishop Tarcisio Bertone, Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, on March 23, 1996, reaffirms that official “pilgrimages to Medjugorje, understood as a place of authentic Marian apparitions, are not permitted to be organized either on the parish or on the diocesan level, because that would be in contradiction to what the Bishops of former Yugoslavian affirmed in their aforementioned declaration. And the fruits of pilgrimages to Medjugorje have been many – conversions, new vocations, healing, etc.  See the picture of Our Lady of Medjugorje. Our Lady of Medjugorje.

America (Red Beads)

Intention – That the Lord Jesus through the intercession of St. Nobert of Xanten, the Patron Saint of Peace, may come to the aid of those affected by the Pulse Nightclub Shooting in Orlando, Florida. May the Lord help all those affected by man-made and natural disasters in America.

Disaster: Pulse Nightclub Shooting Map of Florida Extract from 50 killed in shooting at Florida nightclub in possible act of Islamic terror: “A gunman who may have pledged allegiance to ISIS opened fire early Sunday morning in a packed Orlando nightclub, killing 50 people and wounding at least 53 more in a bloody scene that ended hours later when police stormed the building and killed the shooter. ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack Sunday afternoon via its Amaq news agency, Reuters reported. It was not clear, however, if the shooting was actually directed by the terror group or only inspired by it. The attack in Orlando at Pulse, which bills itself as ‘the hottest gay bar’ in the city and was packed with more than 300 people for ‘Latin Night,’ was reported minutes after 2 a.m. Sunday. In addition to those killed inside the club, at least 53 people were taken to area hospitals. Dozens of partygoers remained hostage in the club for several hours after the initial shooting, prompting SWAT teams to rush inside. Shortly after 6 a.m. local time, Orlando police tweeted that the gunman had been killed. Authorities said there was not believed to be any further threat to the area.” See also: 50 killed in Florida nightclub, shooter pledged ISIS allegiance. Saint Norbert of Xanten: Patron Saint of Peace (Feast Date: June 6) Extract from Saint Norbert:  ” The early part of his life was devoted to the world and its pleasures. He entered upon the ecclesiastical state in a worldly spirit. . . . To ensure his success at court, he also had no qualms about accepting holy orders as a canon and whatever financial benefices that came with that position, although he did hesitate at becoming a priest and the implied responsibilities that came with that vocation.  . . high winds pushed and pulled at his fashionable coif, rain slashed at his fancy clothes, and dark roiling clouds pressed night down upon his light thoughts. A sudden flash of lightning split the dark and his horse bucked, throwing Norbert to the ground. For almost an hour, the still form of the courtier lay unmoving. Even the rain soaking his clothes and the howl of thunder did not bring him back to consciousness and life. When he awoke his first words were, ‘Lord, what do you want me to do?’ — the same words Saul spoke on the road to Damascus. In response Norbert heard in his heart, “Turn from evil and do good. Seek peace and pursue it.” See PICTURE of Saint Norbert. St. Norbert

Asia (Yellow Beads)

Intention – That the Lord Jesus through the intercession of the 108 Blessed Polish Martyrs of WWII may come to the aid of those affected by the terrorist shooting in Tel Aviv, Israel. May the Lord help all those affected by man-made and natural disasters in Asia.

Disaster: Terrorist Shooting Map of Israel  Extract from Tel Aviv Shooting Leaves 4 Dead, Deemed Terror Attack: “A shooting in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Wednesday — which police were calling a terrorist attack — left four people dead and others wounded, officials said. The commander of the Tel Aviv police district said that there were two assailants and that one of them is under arrest and the other is being treated for gun wounds. The two assailants were cousins, Mohamed and Khaled Makhamrah, from the Hebron area, Palestinian sources tell ABC News. The shooting took place in a market called the Sarona Center, across the street from Israeli military headquarters. Tel Aviv police said they had no prior warning of an imminent terror attack. Micky Rosenfeld, superintendent of the Israel Police tweeted that Tel Aviv was under ‘heightened security’ following the attack. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had just landed at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport after returning from Moscow, when the shooting occurred, his office said. Netanyahu will convene a meeting of his security cabinet on Thursday, according to his office. Netanyahu told reporters, ‘This is a savage crime, murder, terrorism in the heart of Tel Aviv. It’s done by criminal terrorists who don’t value human life, who are willing to murder innocent citizens who were sitting in a coffee shop.”” See also: Tel Aviv terror attack: 4 victims ID’d; Israel searches homes in West Bank, Tel Aviv cop accidentally invited terrorist into his home after attack.
